Mets Unveil Updated Road Uniforms for 2025 Season
The New York Mets are making updates to their traditional road uniforms in response to high expectations for the upcoming 2025 season. The team will introduce blue and orange striping along the collar, sleeves, and pant trim of their gray uniforms, a modification confirmed by Moneyline.
The redesigned look will prominently feature blue and orange stripes on the sleeves and collar, as well as matching stripes on the pants. This change represents a slight departure from the previous design, which included blue piping running from the neck down the middle of the jersey and down the side of the pants, with blue stripes encircling the sleeves. The new design integrates both of the Mets' primary colors, rather than predominantly showcasing just blue. This updated trim style is reminiscent of the road uniforms used by the Mets in 1982, marking the second significant uniform alteration for the team heading into the new season.
In addition to the updated gray road uniforms, the Mets recently unveiled a new alternate road jersey during the Amazin' Day event on January 25, featuring a primarily blue design with orange trim. This expansion of their uniform collection brings the total number of combinations to five for the 2025 season, which includes the traditional home whites, road grays, the alternate home black jersey, the alternate blue road uniform, and the City Connect uniform. These fresh looks contribute to the heightened anticipation surrounding the Mets as they enter what may be one of the most eagerly awaited seasons in franchise history. Following a successful run that culminated in an appearance in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) and a record of 65-40 from June 1 onward, the Mets further bolstered their roster by signing star player Juan Soto to a groundbreaking 15-year, $765 million contract, making him the highest-paid player in MLB history. Soto and the Mets will display their new road gray uniforms early in the season, with their first six games scheduled away, starting with a three-game series against the Houston Astros at Daikin Park from March 27-29.
