Lamar Jackson Back at Practice: Ravens' Playoff Hopes Reignite

Ravens' Star Quarterback Returns to Practice
The Baltimore Ravens received a significant boost in their playoff chase as quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice on Tuesday. After missing Monday's walk-through due to a toe injury, Jackson reassured fans with his positive outlook, stating, "I just got fell on, but I'm good though. The toe's good."
Injury Woes and Season Performance
This season has been challenging for the 28-year-old Jackson, who has already missed three games because of a hamstring injury. Additionally, he dealt with knee soreness and an ankle issue earlier in the month that limited his practice time. However, he has been resilient, managing to play through multiple injuries.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh highlighted the importance of Jackson to the team, noting after Jackson's previous absence from practice, "I know it's Lamar, it's our quarterback. I understand how important it is, and it wasn't his best interest [to] practice today. And we'll see where we're at [Thursday]." This sentiment underscores just how crucial Jackson is to the Ravens' chances of success.
Jackson's Impact on the Team
When healthy, Jackson has proven to be exceptionally productive, recording 1,595 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Furthermore, he has contributed to the ground game with 237 rushing yards and one touchdown. The Ravens hold a 5-3 record during his starts, demonstrating his vital role in the team's performance.
Without Jackson, the Ravens' potential significantly diminishes, evidenced by the struggles of backup quarterback Cooper Rush, who went 0-2 with no touchdown passes and four interceptions before the team decided to pivot to Tyler Huntley. If Jackson were to miss more time, it is highly likely the Ravens would rely on Huntley once again.
