Jayden Daniels Faces Injury Setback in Commanders' Clash Against Seahawks

Injury Concern for Commanders' Jayden Daniels
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels exited Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks with a serious elbow injury, raising concerns just as the team was looking to find its rhythm this season. The incident occurred midway through the fourth quarter when Daniels was tackled during a run, prompting teammates to gather around him as he was placed in an air cast before being taken off the field.
At this time, the specifics of Daniels’ injury remain unknown. This season has seen Daniels struggle with his health, having missed three of the first eight games due to hamstring and knee injuries. These setbacks contributed to the Commanders landing in a challenging 3-5 situation, making their path to the playoffs increasingly difficult.
The injury marks a disappointing return for Daniels, who was making his first appearance since October 19. After being selected as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, he quickly established himself as a standout player, winning the Rookie of the Year award. His remarkable rookie season saw him complete 69% of his passes for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, alongside 891 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
This year, Daniels has completed 61% of his passes for 1,031 yards, with eight touchdowns and only one interception, plus another touchdown on the ground. His continuing health issues, however, have led Washington to rely on veteran Marcus Mariota as a backup. While Mariota may not offer the same explosiveness as Daniels, he provides experience and the ability to manage the offense in crucial situations as the Commanders look to navigate the remainder of the season.
