Giants Rookie RB Cam Skattebo Suffers Serious Ankle Injury Against Eagles

Cam Skattebo's Injury Plagues Giants' Season
In a challenging matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a devastating ankle injury in the second quarter of the game on Sunday. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Skattebo sustained a dislocated ankle and was promptly taken to a local hospital for further evaluation after being carted off the field.
The injury occurred when Skattebo fell to the ground while attempting to catch a pass, which unfortunately fell incomplete. Before exiting the game, Skattebo rushed for 12 yards on three carries and made a notable impact with an 18-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.
Giants Facing Injury Woes in 2025
This season has been particularly tough for the Giants, as injuries have plagued their young talent. Notably, second-year receiver Malik Nabers has been ruled out for the season due to a torn ACL suffered in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Skattebo, selected in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, was off to a hot start this season, having rushed for 398 yards and five touchdowns over seven games. His ascent in the lineup came as he stepped in as a starter in Week 4, showcasing his resilience by gaining extra yards through contact. Skattebo also contributed significantly in the passing game, recording 23 catches for 189 yards and a touchdown.
With Skattebo now sidelined, the Giants will once again turn to Tyrone Tracy Jr. as their starting running back, as they look to navigate the rest of the season amid rising injury concerns.
