Cooper Flagg Shines with 35 Points as Mavericks Edge Clippers 114-110

Flagg Makes History in Career Night
In a thrilling matchup on the second night of a back-to-back, the Dallas Mavericks triumphed over the Los Angeles Clippers with a tight score of 114-110, thanks to the stunning performance of Cooper Flagg. Flagg, who scored a career-high 35 points, has now etched his name in NBA history as the youngest player to reach 35 points in a game. He joins the ranks of LeBron James as one of only two 18-year-olds to achieve the feat of scoring 30 or more points in a game.
Flagg's outstanding stats from the night included eight rebounds and two assists, while he shot an impressive 59 percent from the field. His performance was particularly instrumental in helping the Mavericks snap a three-game losing streak, improving their record to 6-15 and moving them up to 12th place in the Western Conference.
Team Efforts and Notable Performances
In addition to Flagg's historic night, Klay Thompson contributed significantly to the Mavericks' victory, racking up 23 points and shooting an impressive 60 percent from beyond the arc. On the other side of the court, the Clippers' James Harden put up 29 points and secured eight rebounds, while Kawhi Leonard contributed 30 points of his own. Despite their efforts, the Clippers fell to 5-15, extending their losing streak to four games.
The game was tightly contested throughout, with the Clippers holding a seven-point lead at halftime. Harden was pivotal in the first half, finishing with 12 points, while John Collins added 14. Flagg, however, kept pace for Dallas with 21 points by the break.
In a tense finish, both teams traded baskets until Flagg hit a jumper with 2:47 remaining to give the Mavericks a 101-100 lead. He further solidified the win with clutch free throws late in the game, sealing the Mavericks' victory.
The Mavericks are now looking to build on this momentum as they prepare to face the Denver Nuggets on Monday.
