Cardinals Surrender Late Lead, Fall to Titans 22-21 in Heartbreaking Loss

Cardinals Blow 21-6 Lead Against Titans in Stunning Collapse
The Arizona Cardinals suffered a devastating defeat on Sunday after leading the Tennessee Titans 21-6 heading into the fourth quarter. In a turn of events that left players, fans, and analysts shocked, the Cardinals allowed the Titans to score on a last-second field goal, marking their third consecutive loss with a final score of 22-21.
Quarterback Kyler Murray expressed his disbelief after the game, stating, "I don't really know what to think about that. I really don't even know. That's 'How to Lose a Game 101.' It was crazy." His frustration was evident as he continued, "That was bad. Bad. All around, it was bad."
Critical Errors Lead to Cardinals' Downfall
Two key plays during the game highlighted the Cardinals' missteps. The first involved running back Emari Demercado, who prematurely dropped the ball in a celebration just before crossing the goal line on what should have been a spectacular 72-yard touchdown run. Instead of scoring, the ball rolled out of the end zone, resulting in a touchback and costing the Cardinals six points.
The second blunder occurred when Arizona safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson intercepted the ball but subsequently fumbled as he hit the ground. The chaotic sequence allowed Tennessee wide receiver Tyler Lockett to recover the ball in the end zone for a touchdown, reducing the Cardinals' lead to 21-19.
Arizona's offense failed to score on eight consecutive drives to finish the game, while their defense struggled to contain Titans quarterback Cam Ward and the Tennessee offense in the fourth quarter. Reflecting on the lack of execution, Murray remarked, "I just think if you look at the mistakes, I think we played well enough to win the game, but crucial, bonehead mistakes just gave them a chance to stay in the game. We kept them in the game."
