Blue Jays Manager John Schneider Prioritizes World Series Over Halloween Festivities

Toronto Blue Jays Aim for World Series Glory on Halloween
As the Toronto Blue Jays gear up for Game 6 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, manager John Schneider has his mind firmly focused on baseball, rather than Halloween celebrations. “I think Halloween's a made-up holiday,” Schneider remarked to reporters ahead of the crucial matchup.
Schneider reflected on last year's Halloween when his team wasn't in the championship spotlight, noting, “Sitting in my neighbor's driveway, drinking a beer, giving out candy. This is way, way better.” It’s a sentiment that resonates with every MLB manager, who would surely prefer guiding their team in the World Series than distributing treats.
The Blue Jays have a real chance to make this Halloween memorable, not just for the fans donning costumes, but for the opportunity to clinch the championship. After an 18-inning marathon loss in Game 3, Toronto rebounded impressively, winning the next two games on the road, and now boasts a 3-2 lead in the series.
However, Schneider knows that closing out the series won’t be an easy task, especially with the Dodgers set to start Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The skilled pitcher is coming off two exceptional complete-game victories, allowing just one run in each. He previously faced the Blue Jays in Game 2, making today's challenge even more daunting.
If the American League champions can solve Yamamoto and secure a win on October 31, Toronto could transform Schneider’s view of Halloween from a mere commercial holiday to a significant annual celebration marking their first World Series title since 1993.
