Aaron Rodgers Joins Exclusive Club with 500 Career Touchdowns
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers concluded a challenging season on a high note by joining a select group of quarterbacks in NFL history. During the game against the Miami Dolphins, Rodgers made history as only the fifth quarterback to achieve 500 career touchdown passes, accomplishing this feat with a five-yard pass to Tyler Conklin in the second quarter.
The Jets entered their contest against the Dolphins with a disappointing record of 4-12, marking the team's 14th consecutive year without playoff participation. Prior to the season, New York had high aspirations, even envisioning a Super Bowl run. Following a torn Achilles that sidelined him for much of the 2023 season, Rodgers displayed moments of his former MVP-caliber performance, although his age and subsequent immobility became apparent as the season progressed and he sustained injuries.
In light of the team's overall struggles, the Jets made significant changes by parting ways with head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas. Rodgers has indicated that he will take time to reflect on his future in professional football after the season concludes. Should he decide to retire, he will do so with the notable milestone of 500 touchdown passes to his name.
