The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced the dates and complete TNT viewing schedule for the knockout rounds of the 2024 NBA Cup tournament. This information was made public on Friday, providing fans with the specifics of when to tune in for this exciting playoff-format event.
Three of the four quarterfinal matchups will be broadcast on TNT and truTV, and fans can also stream these games live on Max. The quarterfinal games are scheduled for December 10 at either 7:00 or 7:30 p.m. ET and 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. ET. The final quarterfinal game will take place on December 11 at 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. ET. Following these games, the semifinals will occur on December 14, with one semifinal airing on TNT, truTV, and Max at 4:30 p.m. ET. The culmination of the tournament will be the 2024 NBA Cup Championship Game, set for December 17 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, which will be broadcast on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The NBA Cup recently commenced, with all teams having played either one or two games so far. Early front runners in the tournament include the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, and Atlanta Hawks, each holding a 2-0 record. This marks the second season of what is now a historic in-season tournament, as the previous year's edition saw the Lakers defeat the Indiana Pacers in the final, becoming the inaugural champions of the NBA Cup. The tournament format remains consistent, with all 30 teams divided into six groups, three from the Eastern Conference and three from the Western Conference. After round-robin play concludes, the top team from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, alongside the second-place team with the best overall record in each conference. Quarterfinal matchups will take place at the home arenas of the higher-seeded teams, while the semifinals and championship game will be hosted at T-Mobile Arena. Participating players are incentivized to perform well, as reaching the quarterfinals earns them over $50,000 each, with potential payouts exceeding $500,000 for the championship-winning team.
