Zion Williamson Addresses Back-to-Back Game Restrictions
New Orleans Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson has disclosed that the organization is implementing a strategy to restrict his participation in back-to-back games throughout the current NBA season. In a recent statement, Williamson emphasized his willingness to compete, stating, 'If I could play in the back-to-backs, I would. Physically? Yes, I can.'
Williamson acknowledged the decision made by the Pelicans, stating that the team's management based their conclusion on statistical analysis, deeming it unwise for him to take part in consecutive matches at this time. He expressed solidarity with the team's approach by saying, 'If that's what they feel, I'm rocking with them on that.' The two-time All-Star has only participated in 13 games thus far in the 2024-25 season.
This season has been especially challenging for Williamson, as he has faced significant injury setbacks, including a hamstring injury that caused him to miss 27 consecutive games from November 8 through January 5. Further updates and analyses related to Williamson and the Pelicans will be provided as more information becomes available.
