Yankees Rookie Cam Schlittler Shifts Focus to Bruins After ALDS Elimination

Cam Schlittler Turns to Bruins Fandom Following Playoff Exit
After being eliminated from the playoffs following a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in ALDS Game 4, New York Yankees rookie pitcher Cam Schlittler is embracing his roots as a Massachusetts native and die-hard Boston sports fan.
Schlittler, who delivered an outstanding performance in the Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox, where he pitched eight shutout innings and recorded 12 strikeouts, faced a challenging outing against the Blue Jays. In his second playoff game, he struggled, allowing four runs (two earned) over 6.1 innings.
In light of the Yankees' playoff defeat, Schlittler is taking his own advice, previously told to a fan to prepare for the upcoming Boston Bruins season. Embracing his hometown loyalty, he even changed his social media profile picture to the Bruins logo.
The Bruins kicked off their season with a 3-1 victory over the Washington Capitals and will be playing against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night. With the Yankees season over, it's clear that Schlittler will be tuning in to catch his favorite hockey team in action.
