Victor Wembanyama Skips Halloween Festivities but Shines for Spurs

Wembanyama's Halloween Plans Disrupted
San Antonio Spurs' superstar big man Victor Wembanyama recently shared with reporters that he won't be dressing up in a Halloween costume this year. The season's schedule features the holiday on an off-day for the team, diverging from the past two seasons when they played on Halloween.
In 2023, Wembanyama made headlines by dressing as Slender Man, contributing significantly with 18 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks in a thrilling 115-114 road victory against the Phoenix Suns. The following year, he wowed fans again by donning the guise of Kaonashi (No-Face) from the animated film Spirited Away, showcasing his exceptional skills with a remarkable 5x5 performance. In that game, Wembanyama notched 25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, five blocks, and five steals, leading the Spurs to a decisive 106-88 home win over the Utah Jazz.
Spurs' Upcoming Schedule
This year, with the Spurs not scheduled to play on Halloween—which falls on a Friday—Wembanyama will forgo his annual costume reveal. The Spurs' next matchup is a home game against the Miami Heat on Thursday, followed by a two-game Western Conference road trip featuring games against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
At just 21 years old, Wembanyama continues to impress in his third NBA season, currently averaging an incredible 33.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.8 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game. His outstanding performance has been pivotal in leading the Spurs to a perfect 4-0 start, placing them atop the Western Conference.
