Trevon Diggs Joins Green Bay Packers After Dallas Cowboys Release

Trevon Diggs Finds New Opportunity with the Green Bay Packers
After a surprising release by the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18 of the 2025 season, cornerback Trevon Diggs has signed with the Green Bay Packers, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter. This move comes after a series of injuries that have marred Diggs' promising career.
Injury Struggles and a Major Contract
Trevon Diggs, who previously made back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances in 2021 and 2022, was rewarded by the Cowboys with a lucrative five-year contract extension worth $97 million, which included $33 million guaranteed. However, his trajectory took a downturn when he tore his ACL just two games into the 2023 season. This injury led to further setbacks, including surgery, which limited him to only 11 games in 2024 and a concussion that kept him off the field for part of the 2025 season. In total, Diggs managed to play in just eight games during his final year with the Cowboys, recording 25 total tackles.
A Fresh Start in Green Bay
Despite the recent struggles, Diggs remains optimistic about his future. After his release, he assured NFL Network's Jane Slater that he is “healthy and motivated” to contribute to a new team. The Green Bay Packers are taking a calculated risk, hoping that Diggs can be a game-changer as they pursue a Super Bowl title. Alongside fellow cornerbacks Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine, Diggs is expected to bolster the Packers' defensive lineup as they head into the playoffs.
