Travis Hunter Unveils New Look Ahead of Historic NFL Debut with Jaguars

A New Era for Travis Hunter
As he prepares for his highly anticipated debut with the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, rookie sensation Travis Hunter made headlines with a bold change. The No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft showcased a fresh new haircut, parting ways with his trademark braids, just in time for his first game in the NFL.
Setting Out to Make History
Hunter, who captured the 2024 Heisman Trophy while playing a dual role as a wide receiver and cornerback at Colorado, aims to make history by becoming the first player in NFL history to participate on both offense and defense for an entire season. This ambitious goal sets the stage for one of the most unique rookie seasons the league has ever seen, as only three players have taken on both positions in a single game since 1980: Deion Sanders, Champ Bailey, and Antonio Cromartie.
Week 1 Gameplan
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jaguars have devised a strategic plan for Hunter's involvement in Week 1, aiming to utilize him as an 'every-down wide receiver and situational corner.' However, the arrangement is not set in stone, and sources indicated that Hunter might also see action as a full-time player in both positions as the season progresses. Jaguars' first-year head coach Liam Coen remained tight-lipped regarding specific details, emphasizing the need for flexibility. He stated, 'We're going to have to figure it out. We'll come up with that plan over the next 24 hours in terms of what are the exact maybe numbers we want to hit on both sides or usage.'
As Hunter steps onto the field for his inaugural game, he not only brings talent but also a fresh, confident look that could symbolize his rise as a dual threat in the NFL.
