Travis Hunter Unveils Custom Adidas Cleats Ahead of NFL Debut with Jaguars

Travis Hunter Gears Up for NFL Debut
The excitement is building in Jacksonville as rookie Travis Hunter prepares to make his highly anticipated NFL debut this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. The two-way standout, known for his skill on both offense and defense, recently showcased a unique pair of custom Adidas cleats inspired by NBA star Anthony Edwards' AE1 shoes.
Adidas has also released an ad featuring both Hunter and Edwards, highlighting the crossover appeal between sports. Hunter, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, was acquired by the Jaguars after they traded up from the No. 5 spot with the Cleveland Browns, underscoring their faith in the former Colorado star.
Jacksonville Jaguars general manager James Gladstone praised Hunter, stating, "Travis, in fact, as a player is rare. As a person, he's also rare. When we say that the idea of inviting people into our ecosystem, who by being nothing more than who they are, elevate the space—that's the epitome of what Travis is. We’re not going to ask him to be any more than him because by doing so, he elevates not only this football team, not only this city, but the sport itself."
During his time at Colorado, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner excelled significantly, recording impressive stats both as a wide receiver with 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns, and as a cornerback with 36 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and four interceptions in 2024.
On the Jaguars' current depth chart, Hunter is listed as a starting wide receiver and a backup cornerback, demonstrating his versatility and the Jaguars’ strategic plans for him. Aspiring fans can catch his debut at EverBank Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
