Trae Young Drops New Single 'Where I Stay' Featuring Quavo and 2 Chainz

Trae Young Takes a Shot at Dual Stardom with New Song
Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young is stepping into the spotlight not just as an NBA All-Star but also as a musician. After hinting at a musical project over the summer, Young released his latest single titled "Where I Stay" on Saturday, featuring guest appearances from renowned Georgia rappers Quavo and 2 Chainz.
The song, now available on YouTube, showcases Young's evolving artistic journey. Fans were given a glimpse of this collaboration through a new video series titled Switching Stages from The Players' Tribune, which highlights the connections between athletes and musicians. The inaugural episode featured Young and Quavo, demonstrating the former Migos frontman teaching Young the ins and outs of rap.
Notably, the song title and certain lyrics—especially the line "A-T-L-A-N-T-A-G-A is where I stay"—seem to carry deeper meaning, possibly reflecting Young's feelings regarding his current contract situation with the Hawks. As he enters the final guaranteed season of his contract, speculation regarding his future with the franchise is inevitable. Despite this, the 27-year-old expressed contentment with the team's recent acquisitions, stating he's not disappointed with contract talks and is excited about the roster going into the season.
The Hawks had a standout offseason, successfully adding players such as Kristaps Porziņģis, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Luke Kennard. With these new additions, Atlanta has all the potential to emerge as one of the strongest teams in the Eastern Conference.
As Young balances his new musical ventures with his leadership role on the court, fans can look forward to seeing him in action when the Hawks kick off their regular season at home against the Toronto Raptors on October 22.
