Steve Cohen Stays Optimistic as Mets Face Tough Times on Field

Owner Steve Cohen's Confidence in the Mets Amid Struggles
The New York Mets are currently facing a tough stretch, having lost seven consecutive games, including a series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers. Despite these challenges, owner Steve Cohen remains optimistic about the potential of his team.
Cohen expressed his belief in the Mets through a text message to the New York Post, stating, "While the team has had a difficult run, I still believe in our team and believe they will turn it around. LGM." His faith comes at a time when the Mets have lost 12 of their last 13 games, placing them at a season record of 63-55 with just 44 games left to play.
In the wake of the recent defeats, players also acknowledge the challenges ahead. Star player Juan Soto commented after last week's loss to the Cleveland Guardians, emphasizing the need to earn their victories: "It's a challenge. We've got to go out there and take it from them. Nobody is going to bring the trophy over here and give it to us; we've got to go out there and take it."
Currently, the Mets hold the final wild card spot in the playoffs, but the Cincinnati Reds are closing in, trailing just a game and a half behind. With the pressure mounting, the Mets need to regroup quickly, and according to Cohen, they have the capability to pull through.
