Russell Westbrook Surpasses Magic Johnson on NBA All-Time Assist List

Russell Westbrook Makes History with Assists Milestone
In a remarkable achievement, Sacramento Kings guard Russell Westbrook has officially surpassed Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, moving to seventh place on the NBA's all-time assist list. This milestone signifies Westbrook's exceptional playmaking abilities and reinforces his status as one of the game's greats.
At 37 years old and in his 18th NBA season, Westbrook continues to impress fans and analysts alike. He is now one of only eight players in NBA history to have recorded over 10,000 assists, joining an elite group of basketball icons. The nine-time All-Star and two-time scoring champion has also led the league in assists three times throughout his illustrious career.
Known for his explosive style of play, Westbrook has averaged a triple-double on four occasions and is a proud member of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team. Heading into Friday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, he was averaging 14.4 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.9 rebounds per game.
With 52 games remaining on the Kings' schedule, it's highly likely that Westbrook will continue climbing the assist charts. The current top six all-time assist leaders include John Stockton (15,806), Chris Paul (12,552), Jason Kidd (12,091), LeBron James (11,673), Steve Nash (10,335), and Mark Jackson (10,334). If Westbrook maintains his current pace of seven assists per game, he is poised to surpass both Jackson and Nash, potentially landing in the top five by the end of the season.
