Ryan remarked, 'I think that's an absolutely ridiculous message you send to the team.' He emphasized that if given the opportunity, he would implement a stricter framework that discourages any lax attitude and would ensure that attendance and accountability are prioritized.

The dialogue surrounding Ryan's potential return to the Jets and Rodgers’ future remains speculative at this point, as both outcomes are uncertain. Following the end of the regular season, the Jets have initiated formal requests to interview various assistant coaches, signalling a comprehensive coaching search. Ryan has expressed confidence in his candidacy, asserting he possesses the qualifications for the job amid varying opinions on his suitability. He is scheduled to interview with the Jets, anticipating a favorable outcome in his pursuit of a leadership role within the organization.

Despite Rodgers being under contract through 2025, the Jets are not necessarily tied to him moving forward. Owner Woody Johnson conveyed to the New York Post that the forthcoming head coach and general manager will have the autonomy to make strategic decisions regarding the team's direction, including the quarterback position. Johnson acknowledged Rodgers' performance metrics, noting, 'From a numbers standpoint, he did OK, except for the most important number—winning games.'
