One team that may be in a position to make a move is the Colorado Avalanche, particularly concerning their left wing depth. Captain Gabriel Landeskog has faced setbacks during his recovery from knee surgeries, prompting speculation about the need for additional support. Nicholas Robertson of the Toronto Maple Leafs has emerged as a potential fit. Despite being a promising talent, Robertson has struggled to secure a regular spot in the Leafs' lineup and could benefit from a change of scenery. With an affordable cap hit, he presents a cost-effective option for the Avalanche, who might only need to part with a fourth-round pick for his services.

On the other hand, the rebuilding Montreal Canadiens have experienced a slow start to the season and are reportedly exploring options for short-term assistance. General Manager Kent Hughes has been searching for both a defenseman and a versatile forward. Brandon Tanev of the Seattle Kraken is being considered for his energetic play and scoring ability, as the Canadiens aim to strengthen their roster without compromising their long-term vision. Tanev’s potential availability could be of interest, especially as the Kraken manage their forward depth.
Lastly, Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks has recently found himself in trade speculation owing to his inconsistent performance. The 23-year-old forward has struggled this season, leading to conversations about whether a change could spark his offensive game. The Chicago Blackhawks, who are in a rebuilding phase, might view Zegras as an opportunity to bolster their core, particularly with young star Connor Bedard expressing frustration over the team’s struggles.
