Pittsburgh Steelers to Unveil Throwback Uniforms for Week 8 Matchup Against Green Bay Packers

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced their intention to wear throwback uniforms during the upcoming Week 8 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. These retro uniforms pay homage to the team's inaugural 1933 season, reflecting the franchise's long-standing history and its deep connection to Pittsburgh.
Art Rooney II, the president of the Steelers, expressed enthusiasm for the new designs, stating, 'We're excited to unveil our new throwback uniforms which not only pay tribute to the origins of the Steelers franchise but also to the deep connection we have to our hometown of Pittsburgh.' The uniforms will make their debut on Sunday night, October 26, when the Steelers face off against the Packers, a franchise also known for its rich history in the NFL.
The Steelers' current designs for their home and road uniforms have remained largely unchanged over several decades, contributing to one of the most recognizable brands in the league. This commitment to tradition makes the introduction of these historical jerseys a notable event. Previously, the team had adopted the 'bumblebee' jerseys during the 1994 season to celebrate the NFL's 25th anniversary. Most recently, while the City of Pittsburgh crest was more prominently featured, the crest now appears on the left shoulder of the new throwback uniforms. Given the significance of the October matchup, particularly with quarterback Aaron Rodgers facing the franchise he spent 18 years with, the retro-inspired jerseys are expected to add an extra layer of excitement to the game.
