Philadelphia 76ers Unveil Nostalgic Throwback Jerseys Ahead of 2025-26 Season

Reviving the Glory Days: 76ers Introduce Allen Iverson-Era Throwbacks
After a challenging 2024-25 season, the Philadelphia 76ers are embracing a wave of nostalgia by unveiling their new throwback jerseys, paying homage to the iconic Allen Iverson era. The Sixers showcased these classic designs on Tuesday, with plans for them to make their debut on November 8, 2025.
This nostalgic release marks the 25th anniversary of the 76ers' most recent appearance in the NBA Finals. Iverson, known as 'The Answer,' led the team during the 2000-01 season to clinch its first division title in over a decade and to the Finals for the first time in 18 years. He showcased his incredible talent by leading the league in scoring, averaging an impressive 31.1 points per game that season.
One of the most memorable moments from that Finals series occurred during Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers, where Iverson delivered a legendary crossover that sent Tyronn Lue sprawling, followed by the iconic step over. Iverson's stellar performance included a remarkable 48 points in a thrilling 107-101 overtime victory, although the Lakers eventually took the series.
In addition to the throwback jerseys, the 76ers are planning to utilize a custom court design reminiscent of the Iverson era for 14 games during the 2025-26 season. The throwback look was first introduced before the 1997-98 season, when the team incorporated black road uniforms into their rotation, maintaining that design for over a decade before adopting their current colors.
As the excitement builds for the upcoming season, fans are eager to see how the Philadelphia 76ers will mesh their high-caliber talent, including Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey. This trio has only played a combined 15 games together in the previous season due to health issues. The anticipation will culminate when the Sixers tip-off their regular season against the Boston Celtics on October 22, followed by the highly awaited unveil of their throwback jerseys at home against the Toronto Raptors on November 8.
