Paul George Lauds Tyrese Haliburtons Superstar Potential

Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George has expressed admiration for Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton, describing him as a potential 'superstar' in the league. On his podcast, 'Podcast P with Paul George,' he remarked, 'In my eyes, I think he is a superstar. He's the face of the NBA. He is the number one option. He's a set-up point first, but he can be your late-game scorer. He's been a clutch performer late in games. He can be an isolation player, that's just not his calling. I want to see him continue to do this, which I know he will.'
Haliburton has played a crucial role in leading the Pacers to their second consecutive appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals, where they currently hold a 3-1 series lead against the New York Knicks. George's perspective on Haliburton is particularly insightful, as he spent the first seven seasons of his career in Indiana, where he developed into a star. George reached the Eastern Conference Finals with the Pacers in 2013 and 2014, and now Indiana is on the brink of clinching its first NBA Finals appearance since 2000.
The Pacers have demonstrated dominance throughout their 2025 postseason journey, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks in a five-game series during the first round before overcoming the Cleveland Cavaliers in another five-game series to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Haliburton's performance during the playoffs has been essential for an Indiana squad that concluded the regular season ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference standings. He averages 19.4 points, 9.8 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game in the postseason, which marks an improvement over his regular-season statistics. Notably, the Pacers have a plus-9.7 net rating with Haliburton on the floor in the playoffs, contrasting sharply with a minus-8.6 net rating without him, highlighting his impact on the team's success. Although Haliburton has yet to receive a 2025 MVP vote and only boasts two All-Star selections, further success in the playoffs may enhance his recognition in the league.
