Packers’ Christian Watson Hospitalized After Chest Injury in Broncos Game

Watson's Injury Update Following Game Against Broncos

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is on his way home with the team after being evaluated at a hospital for a chest injury sustained during the team's loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Watson was taken for further testing after the game. "He did go to the hospital; they did a CT on him. We'll have more tomorrow for you," LaFleur stated. Watson's injury occurred in the third quarter while attempting to catch a deep pass from quarterback Jordan Love. After making the play, he landed hard on his shoulder, which led to an interception by Denver's Pat Surtain.

Prior to his exit, Watson recorded three receptions for 29 yards. Interestingly, Watson’s 2025 season delayed its start until late October due to being on the physically unable to perform list while he recovered from a torn ACL. Despite this setback, he has emerged as the team’s third-leading receiver, amassing 452 yards and five touchdowns on 25 receptions.

Jordan Love expressed confidence in the team's depth following Watson's injury, stating, "Since Christian's been back from his rehab, he's done some great things and been that explosive playmaker that we needed. With him going out, I think we still got plenty of depth in that receiver room and other guys that played plenty of ball and can step up and make plays."

The situation is compounded by other injuries plaguing the Packers, including star tight end Tucker Kraft, who is sidelined with a torn ACL, and pass rusher Micah Parsons, who left Sunday’s game with a knee injury and is suspected to have a torn ACL as well.

Currently, the Packers hold a record of 9-4-1 and remain in contention for the playoffs, though the series of injuries are putting a strain on their Super Bowl aspirations.
