Oilers Take Commanding Lead in Western Conference Finals

The Edmonton Oilers are one victory away from returning to the Stanley Cup Final after securing a 4-1 triumph over the Dallas Stars in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday evening.
Leon Draisaitl, Corey Perry, Kasperi Kapanen, and Adam Henrique contributed goals for Edmonton. Draisaitl struck first during the first period, capitalizing on a power play opportunity to give the Oilers a 1-0 advantage heading into the intermission. However, the Stars' left wing Jason Robertson leveled the score at one just 6:57 into the second period. Perry quickly responded for the Oilers, netting what would become the game-winning goal with a deft tip-in, set up by an exceptional effort and pass from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who has been prolific in this series, tallying eight points in four games.
In the waning minutes of the third period, Kapanen and Henrique sealed the victory for the Oilers with empty-net goals. Connor McDavid also played a pivotal role, contributing two assists in the contest. With this significant win, the Oilers are aiming to achieve what has eluded Canadian teams since 1993, capturing the Stanley Cup. The victory has sparked joy among their fans. Game 5 is scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. ET in Dallas, where a win would propel the Oilers back to the Cup Final for the second consecutive year, likely to face a rematch against the Florida Panthers, who currently lead the Carolina Hurricanes three games to one in the Eastern Conference Finals, with the opportunity to clinch the conference title on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
