Oilers Edge Closer to Stanley Cup Final with Game 4 Victory

The Edmonton Oilers are now just one win shy of returning to the Stanley Cup Final following their 4-1 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday evening. The Oilers showcased their offensive prowess as Leon Draisaitl, Corey Perry, Kasperi Kapanen, and Adam Henrique found the back of the net for the team.
Draisaitl set the tone for the game by scoring on the power play in the first period, giving Edmonton a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission. However, the Stars responded in the second period when Jason Robertson tied the game at one, netting a goal 6:57 into the frame. Soon after, Perry netted a crucial tip-in goal, assisted by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who significantly contributed to the win with his continued hot streak, registering eight points in the last four games.
The Oilers sealed the victory with two empty-net goals scored by Kapanen and Henrique in the final minutes of the third period. Connor McDavid added two assists to the win, further solidifying his impact in the series. With this victory, the Oilers are aiming to secure the first Stanley Cup for a Canadian team since 1993, eliciting excitement among their fanbase. The next challenge awaits in Game 5, scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. ET in Dallas, where a win would send the Oilers to the Cup Final for the second consecutive year, where they are likely to face the Florida Panthers, who currently lead the Eastern Conference Finals series against the Carolina Hurricanes three games to one with a chance to clinch the title on Wednesday.
