NHL Mount Rushmore: Top Players of the Last 25 Years

Each NHL team boasts players whose contributions have distinguished them from their peers. These can include prolific scoring forwards, adept defensemen, or exceptional goaltenders. Within this group, a select few are often recognized as the very best, earning their rightful place on their team's all-time Mount Rushmore, which comprises the top-four players. For franchises with extensive histories, narrowing it down to just four players is challenging, while for those with shorter legacies, the task is somewhat simpler. This analysis focuses on the past 25 years of NHL history, commencing with the 2000-01 season, highlighting players who resonate with today's fans due to their performance metrics, playoff success, and recognition as fan favorites during this era. Notably, some of these athletes may feature in the Mount Rushmore of multiple teams, given their careers spanned across different franchises, including relocated teams such as the Atlanta Thrashers (now Winnipeg Jets) and the Arizona Coyotes (now Utah Mammoth).
