NFLPA Announces Third Annual Players All-Pro Team
For the third consecutive year, NFL players have had the opportunity to weigh in on their peers, determining the top players at each position in the league. The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) has released its third annual Players' All-Pro team, featuring standout performances from various athletes, including Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase.
Lamar Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, is poised to potentially secure a third award following another impressive season. He matched for second in the league with a career-high 41 touchdown passes, while only throwing four interceptions—his lowest total since his rookie season, when he had limited opportunities. Jackson completed 66.7 percent of his passes, amassing a career-high 4,172 yards, and also contributed significantly in the ground game with 915 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
In his debut season with the Eagles, Saquon Barkley had a remarkable year, becoming the ninth running back in NFL history to surpass the 2,000-yard mark. He led the league in both carries with 345 and rushing yards with 2,005 while crossing the goal line 13 times. Notably, Barkley might have challenged Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards, if he had not rested during the regular-season finale against the New York Giants. Ja'Marr Chase also had an outstanding season, leading the NFL with 127 receptions, 1,708 receiving yards, and 17 touchdown catches, thereby achieving the receiving triple crown—only the fifth player in history to do so. The 24-year-old joins a prestigious group that includes legends such as Jerry Rice and Cooper Kupp.
NFLPA president JC Tretter emphasized the significance of players voting for their own All-Pro team, highlighting an essential aspect of the release of the inaugural list after the 2022 regular season. Tretter remarked on the need for players to utilize their collective expertise to define their peers and expressed that this initiative allows players to take control of their voices within the league.
