NBA Cup 2025: Knicks' Brunson and Towns Lead All-Tournament Team Selection

NBA Announces 2025 All-Tournament Team
The NBA revealed its All-Tournament team for the 2025 NBA Cup on Thursday, featuring standout players from the tournament. The New York Knicks had two representatives on the prestigious list: guard Jalen Brunson and center Karl-Anthony Towns.
Knicks Dominance Shines Through
Brunson made a remarkable impact throughout the tournament, earning unanimous selection as he appeared on all 20 ballots from the voting panel. Averaging an impressive 33.2 points and 5.8 assists, he showcased his skills, especially in the final game where the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 124-113. In that decisive match, Brunson contributed 25 points, four rebounds, eight assists, and one block, proving instrumental in New York's championship run.
Alongside Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns also garnered recognition for his double-double performance in the finals, recording 16 points and 11 rebounds. Their efforts were essential in leading the Knicks to victory and securing their positions on the All-Tournament team.
Rounding Out the Team
The All-Tournament team also included the Los Angeles Lakers' Luka Dončić, who had a stellar individual performance despite his team's early exit in the quarterfinals. Dončić averaged 36.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 10.0 assists but only received 11 votes from the panel. His playoff run ended prematurely against the Spurs, which may have influenced voters' perspectives on his All-Tournament candidacy.
San Antonio's De'Aaron Fox was recognized for his leading performance, averaging 22.3 points, while Oklahoma City's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made the list by averaging 32.5 points with an impressive shooting percentage of 59.5%. Despite a strong personal showing, Gilgeous-Alexander's contributions were not enough to lead his team past the semifinals.
Notable Omissions
Despite their strong performances, some notable players, including Victor Wembanyama and Desmond Bane, were left off the All-Tournament team. Wembanyama had nearly identical scoring numbers to Fox while also contributing significantly in rebounds and blocks. Bane managed to garner eight votes but fell short of selection, along with New York's OG Anunoby, who received seven votes.
The selection of the All-Tournament team shines a spotlight on outstanding talents within the NBA, highlighting remarkable performances during a highly competitive tournament.
