LiAngelo Ball's Musical Journey Takes Off
Less than a year after embarking on his music career, LiAngelo Ball has reached remarkable heights. The former basketball player turned musician celebrated a significant milestone on Monday when the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that his hit single, "Tweaker," has officially sold over one million digital units, earning him his first platinum record.
Rising Through the Ranks
At just 26 years old, Ball joins a prestigious group of hip-hop and R&B artists, including renowned names like Drake, Lil Tecca, BigXthaPlug, and Mariah The Scientist, who also hold platinum singles in 2025. Released in January, "Tweaker" quickly became an online sensation, propelling Ball into the music spotlight and securing him a deal with Def Jam. The single achieved the No. 1 position on the US Rhythmic Billboard chart and has become a favorite in post-game locker room celebrations.
Further showcasing his musical prowess, Ball collaborated with Lil Wayne for the official remix of "Tweaker," solidifying his growing influence in the industry. His journey continued with the release of his first studio album, League of My Own, in July, under the Def Jam label. Just a month later, Ball confirmed his retirement from basketball to fully dedicate himself to his music career.
