The discussion, which commenced around the 11:17 mark, delved into whether Ball would consider playing overseas again. He candidly admitted, 'I've been thinking about it, for real,' emphasizing his desire to secure a G League opportunity to 'open them doors up.'
During the conversation, Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball interjected, asserting that his younger brother would not be heading overseas. Reese then suggested that it would be 'legendary' if the three Ball brothers could team up on the same roster. In response, LiAngelo reaffirmed his intention to reach the G League, indicating that this path may help facilitate such a scenario. At 26 years old, LiAngelo Ball has a history in international basketball, previously playing for Prienai in the Lithuanian Basketball League during the 2017-18 season alongside his brother LaMelo Ball, who currently stars with the Charlotte Hornets.
Subsequently, LiAngelo Ball competed in 19 games for the Greensboro Swarm, the G League affiliate of the Hornets, over the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. He made a brief stint with Astros de Jalisco in the Mexican professional league in March 2024, but his season was cut short due to a left ankle injury. While the league has seen siblings such as Franz and Moe Wagner of the Orlando Magic play together, and brother trios like the Holidays and Antetokounmpos participate concurrently in the NBA, no trio has yet played for the same team. Currently, LaMelo Ball is thriving in Charlotte, posting an impressive average of 31.0 points per game on a long-term contract. While LiAngelo Ball faces challenges in making his NBA aspirations a reality, it is evident that he remains determined.
