Kevin Durant Responds to Jahmyr Gibbs Touchdown Celebration

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant recently provided a humorous take on Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs' celebration following a touchdown. Gibbs celebrated his score with a move reminiscent of Durant's classic pregame warm-up that gained popularity during the 2017 NBA Finals. The lighthearted incident captured the attention of fans and media alike as Durant, who has long been supportive of the Washington Commanders, acknowledged Gibbs' homage to his style.
Gibbs' memorable dance took place in the first quarter of the Commanders' playoff game against the Detroit Lions. The dance in question was first showcased just before the Golden State Warriors emerged onto the court prior to Game 5 of the 2017 Finals, leading the team to victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Durant had an impressive performance that day, scoring 39 points, along with six rebounds and five assists, ultimately securing the Finals MVP title.
Durant, a native of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, was seen arriving at the arena for the Suns' subsequent match against the Pistons while sporting a jersey of Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. Robinson had been performing well, entering the game with 799 yards and eight touchdowns for the season. Durant expressed optimism for the Commanders' playoff run, predicting a close win with a score of 24-21. He highlighted the team's improved identity, excitedly encouraging the players to demonstrate their capabilities on the field. A victory for the Commanders would mark their first divisional playoff win since 1991, when they went on to capture the Super Bowl title against the Buffalo Bills, an event that Durant was just two years old for.
