Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has secured his first NFL MVP award following a remarkable performance during the 2024 season. The announcement came during the league's annual NFL Honors show held in New Orleans, coinciding with Super Bowl LIX. Allen triumphed in a closely contested vote against two-time MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.

In the final voting results, Allen received a total of 383 votes, edging out Jackson, who garnered 362 votes. Other finalists for the MVP included Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff, reflecting a competitive field this season. Allen's impressive statistical achievements included a completion rate of 63.6 percent, accumulating 3,731 passing yards, 28 touchdown passes, and only six interceptions. Additionally, he showcased his versatility with 531 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns, further highlighting his impact on the field.

Despite the loss of key wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis to other teams, Allen led the Bills to an outstanding 13-4 record, clinching the AFC East title for the fifth consecutive year and securing the No. 2 seed in the conference. The Bills also featured the second-highest scoring offense in the NFL. Over the past season, they revamped their receiving corps by drafting Keon Coleman, signing Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins, and acquiring Amari Cooper through a midseason trade. Allen's ability to adapt and thrive amidst these changes contributed significantly to his MVP-winning campaign.
