Jerry Jones Shares Insights on Micah Parsons Trade Saga Amid 2025 NFL Season

Dallas Cowboys Owner Discusses Micah Parsons Trade
The 2025 NFL season is in full swing, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones remains focused on the controversial trade of linebacker Micah Parsons. During a recent interview on 105.3 The Fan, Jones revealed some intriguing details about the trade discussions with the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to Jones, as trade talks progressed, "there was no counter offer" presented by the Eagles. As interest increased, he noted, "The closer we got to trading Micah, the more the phone started ringing." Ultimately, Parsons was traded to the Green Bay Packers, who signed him to a lucrative four-year deal worth $188 million, with $136 million in guarantees.
In return, the Cowboys received a substantial package, including two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Notably, reports indicate that the Cowboys could have extracted an even more significant deal if they had engaged more seriously with other teams.
Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported that the Eagles made the most compelling offer for Parsons, which included two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a fifth-round pick, among other assets. However, it’s understandable why the Cowboys were hesitant to trade him to a primary rival like Philadelphia, where he would pose a persistent threat in the NFC East.
Having already secured a Super Bowl title, the Eagles are considered one of the top teams in the league this season. Adding Parsons to their roster could have made their pursuit of a second consecutive Lombardi Trophy even more formidable—a scenario that surely does not sit well with Jones and the Cowboys.
