Jalen Greens Farewell to Houston Rockets: A New Chapter with the Phoenix Suns

In his farewell letter to the Houston Rockets, Jalen Green expressed his deep appreciation for the franchise with which he began his NBA career. While reflecting on his time in Houston, Green made it clear that he intends to be competitive during the upcoming season, particularly when facing his former team.
In a heartfelt letter published by The Players' Tribune, Green advised fans not to take it personally if he scores significantly when the Rockets face off against the Phoenix Suns, his new team. He humorously noted, 'And if I bust y’all ass for 30 next season, just remember the good times!' This statement encapsulates his competitive spirit and readiness to make an impact with his new teammates, including star guard Devin Booker.
Drafted second overall by the Rockets in the 2021 NBA Draft, Green enjoyed a promising start to his career, contributing to the team's success and helping secure a No. 2 seed in the Western Conference last season. However, the Rockets made a significant decision to trade Green, alongside Dillon Brooks and draft picks, to the Suns in exchange for Kevin Durant. Although Green expressed sadness about leaving Houston, he conveyed an understanding of the business nature of the NBA, stating that he might have made the same decision if he were in the team's executive chair. With newfound excitement, Green looks forward to collaborating with Booker in Phoenix to establish a winning culture similar to what he experienced in Houston.
