Jalen Green Bids Farewell to Houston Rockets Ahead of New Chapter with Phoenix Suns

In a heartfelt farewell letter to the Houston Rockets, Jalen Green expressed his gratitude to the organization he has represented throughout his young career. However, he also made it clear that he intends to bring his competitive spirit when the Rockets face off against his new team, the Phoenix Suns.
The letter, published in The Players' Tribune, included a message for fans, advising them not to take it personally if he performs exceptionally well against the Rockets in future matchups. He noted with a touch of humor, "And if I bust y’all ass for 30 next season, just remember the good times!" Drafted second overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, Green had a promising start with the Rockets, where he showcased his talent and potential.
Despite expressing sadness about leaving Houston, Green acknowledged the rationale behind the trade that sent him, along with Dillon Brooks and additional draft picks, to the Suns in exchange for superstar Kevin Durant. He reflected, "Listen, nobody likes to get traded. But I can honestly say that I get it, bro. This is a business, and if I was up there in the executive chair, I probably would’ve made the deal, too." Green is eager to integrate with Devin Booker in Phoenix and contribute to developing a winning culture as he aims to replicate the success he found with the Rockets, where he averaged 21 points per game last season and helped secure the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. Thus, when the Suns meet the Rockets next season, fans can expect Green to be performing at his best.
