Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokić, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Lead 2025 NBA All-Star Fan Voting Update

In the latest update for the fan voting in the 2025 NBA All-Star race, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić, and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are prominent figures at the top of the leaderboard. Notably, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has surpassed Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant for the second position among Western Conference forwards, while Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry maintains his position ahead of Dallas Mavericks player Luka Dončić for the second guard spot.
Antetokounmpo and Jokić are leading their respective conferences in the third fan returns of the NBA All-Star voting presented by AT&T. The fan voting accounts for 50% of the total selection process for All-Star starters, while players and a media panel each contribute 25%. The composition of the starting lineups includes two backcourt players and three frontcourt players. As such, the current fan voting results play a crucial role in determining the top 10 players selected from both the Eastern and Western Conferences.
Antetokounmpo has garnered the most votes of any player, with a total of 3,489,956, despite the Bucks facing challenges early in the season. Milwaukee currently holds the fourth position in the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-17, largely attributable to Antetokounmpo's impressive performance. Averaging 31.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, and over six assists per game, he has maintained an MVP-caliber level of play, significantly impacting his team’s success. Similarly, Jokić's contributions have been vital to the Denver Nuggets as he pursues a potential fourth MVP award in five years. The Serbian center is currently achieving career highs, averaging 30.6 points, 9.9 assists, and 13.2 rebounds per game, which underlines his extraordinary influence on the court. Meanwhile, the situation surrounding Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball has sparked discussions regarding merit and fan perception. Despite Ball's impressive averages of 29.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, his team holds the third-worst record in the league (9-28), leading some fans to question the appropriateness of his position among the top two guards in the Eastern Conference. It is essential to remember that fan votes are just one part of the overall selection process, which accounts for 50% from fans and 25% each from players and media members. The unveiling of the All-Star starters is scheduled for January 23 on TNT, with the reserves to be announced one week later.
