Farhan Zaidi is reportedly making his return to the Los Angeles Dodgers' front office, this time as a special advisor, following his departure from the San Francisco Giants. According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, Zaidi will assist owner Mark Walter in various sports interests while contributing to the Dodgers' organizational strategy.

Zaidi previously served as the general manager of the Dodgers from 2014 to 2018, during which the team developed significant players such as Max Muncy and Chris Taylor. His tenure saw the Dodgers reach the World Series in consecutive years but ultimately culminated in losses to the Houston Astros in 2017 and the Boston Red Sox in 2018. After his time with the Dodgers, Zaidi took on the role of president of baseball operations for the Giants, where he notably earned the title of MLB Executive of the Year in 2021 after the team achieved a franchise-best 107 wins.

Despite the successful regular season in 2021, the Giants faced challenges in the postseason, suffering a five-game loss to the Dodgers in the National League Division Series. Following a series of disappointing seasons, the Giants and Zaidi parted ways after one year of a two-year contract extension signed in 2023. As Zaidi re-joins the Dodgers, the organization looks forward to leveraging his experience while continuing to contend in the highly competitive landscape of Major League Baseball.
