Edmonton Oilers Move One Win Away from Stanley Cup Final After Game 4 Victory

The Edmonton Oilers are one win away from returning to the Stanley Cup Final following their 4-1 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday evening. The Oilers' goals came from Leon Draisaitl, Corey Perry, Kasperi Kapanen, and Adam Henrique.
Draisaitl initiated the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal, granting Edmonton a 1-0 lead as the teams headed into intermission. The Stars responded in the second period, with left wing Jason Robertson equalizing the score at 1-1 just 6:57 into the frame. However, Perry reclaimed the lead for the Oilers shortly after with a tip-in, which would later be recognized as the game-winning goal, aided by a remarkable play from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who has been remarkable throughout this series with eight points accumulated in four games. Kapanen and Henrique sealed the Oilers' victory by scoring empty-net goals in the final minutes of the third period, complementing the effort with two assists from Connor McDavid.
This pivotal win bolsters the Oilers' aspirations of securing their first Stanley Cup since 1990, marking a significant moment for Canadian hockey fans. The Oilers are poised to advance to the Cup Final for the second consecutive year, with Game 5 scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. ET in Dallas. Should they succeed, they are anticipated to face a rematch against the Florida Panthers, who currently hold a 3-1 series lead against the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals. Florida has the opportunity to clinch the conference title with a win on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
