Draymond Greens Mild Calf Strain: Key Details and Impact on Warriors
The Golden State Warriors' power forward Draymond Green has been diagnosed with a mild calf strain following an MRI that was conducted after his early exit from Saturday's contest against the Washington Wizards. The team confirmed that he will be re-evaluated in one week, which translates to a minimum absence from at least four subsequent games.
Green had already been ruled out for the upcoming game against the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. In a concerning trend, both Green and teammate Stephen Curry exited the court during the Warriors' 122-114 victory over the Wizards. Green left just three minutes into the first quarter due to tightness in his left calf, while Curry sustained an ankle injury in the closing moments of the game.
Despite being initially listed as questionable for Monday's game, Curry expressed confidence in his recovery, stating in the locker room, 'Feels great. See you on Monday.' Warriors head coach Steve Kerr remarked on the differing injury statuses, noting that while he was uncertain about Green's condition, he believed Curry's injury was not serious. The Warriors have had to navigate through a series of injuries this season, currently holding a record of 21-20 and sitting in 10th place in the Western Conference. In addition to Green's injury, Jonathan Kuminga is managing a right ankle issue, Brandin Podziemski has been out since December 28 with an abdominal problem, and Kyle Anderson remains sidelined due to a glute injury.
