Dive into the Legacy: Allen Iverson's Journey Explored in New Amazon Documentary 'ALLEN IV3RSON'

New Documentary Highlights Allen Iverson's Hall of Fame Career
NBA fans are in for a treat as Prime Video announces the release of 'ALLEN IV3RSON', a documentary series that takes an intimate look at the legendary career of Allen Iverson. Set to premiere on Thursday, October 23, the series is co-produced by basketball icons Shaquille O'Neal and Stephen Curry's Unanimous Media.
A Reflective Journey Through Iverson's Career
Originally greenlit in 2023, the project aims to offer a personal insight into Iverson's life as he reflects on his past and recognizes his lasting cultural impact in the realm of basketball and beyond. Fans will get a chance to see a different, more contemplative side of Iverson, unfolding his journey from a promising college athlete at Georgetown to a two-time scoring champion in the NBA.
After being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1996, Iverson's career skyrocketed. He received the NBA's Rookie of the Year award in 1997, amassing accolades and leading his team to the NBA Finals in 2001, ultimately cementing his status as one of the league's greats. His journey included overcoming significant personal and legal challenges, which were previously explored in the 2010 documentary 'No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson'.
Iverson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016, and in April of this year, he was further honored by the Philadelphia 76ers with the unveiling of a statue commemorating his contributions to the franchise.
'ALLEN IV3RSON' is a timely release, coinciding with the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, which tips off two days prior, on October 21, with a game between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
