DeVonta Smith Confident Eagles Can Bounce Back Despite Tough Losing Streak

DeVonta Smith Optimistic About Eagles' Future
As the Philadelphia Eagles head into Week 15, wide receiver DeVonta Smith expressed confidence in the team's ability to recover from a challenging three-game losing streak. Despite these setbacks, the Eagles maintain their position at the top of the NFC East with an 8-5 record, while the Dallas Cowboys trail at 6-6-1, just 1.5 games behind with four games left in the season.
"I feel like we're alright. We're in a good spot," Smith remarked during a press conference on Friday. His optimism is rooted in the team's ability to stay composed during tough matches. When asked about potential positives from their recent performances, Smith noted, "We're not shooting ourselves in the foot. We operate pretty well."
Smith highlighted that the Eagles' offense demonstrated a strong tempo in their Week 14 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, where he caught four passes for a team-high 28 yards. Despite the team's struggles, including star quarterback Jalen Hurts posting a career-high five turnovers, Smith believes in the team's forthcoming potential.
"You don't just sit there and beat yourself up over things like that," Smith said. "In this game, stuff like that happens. Everybody's gonna have a game where they're down. You tell me somebody that you know that don't have games like that."
Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. A solid turnaround performance from Hurts, alongside a Cowboys loss to the Minnesota Vikings later that evening, would significantly bolster the Eagles' chances of securing the division title.
