Denzel Perryman Faces Two-Game Suspension for Safety Violations Following Controversial Hit

Los Angeles Chargers Linebacker Denzel Perryman Receives Two-Game Suspension
The NFL has suspended Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman for two games due to repeated violations of player safety rules. This decision comes after Perryman's latest infraction during a recent game against the Dallas Cowboys, where he made helmet-to-helmet contact with wide receiver Ryan Flournoy in the second quarter.
Perryman's hit occurred while Flournoy was on the ground securing a catch, leading to a penalty for unnecessary roughness during the game. Despite the infraction, Perryman continued to play, while Flournoy left the game with a knee injury and did not return for the second half.
After the game, Perryman defended himself, stating that he does not believe he is a dirty player. The linebacker now faces a suspension that could be appealed. If the suspension is upheld, he will miss crucial games, including the Chargers' clash in Week 18 against the Denver Broncos.
Currently, the Chargers hold an 11-4 record, placing them fifth in the conference. This suspension won’t affect Perryman's eligibility for the playoffs, should the Chargers qualify. Tied for fifth on the team, he has recorded 47 total tackles during the season and has been with the Chargers for eight seasons.
