DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine Reunite in Sacramento Following Trade

Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan acknowledged his reunion with Zach LaVine after a significant three-team trade involving the Kings, Chicago Bulls, and San Antonio Spurs. DeRozan shared a moment from the reunion with LaVine on his Instagram story, highlighting the bond they formed during their time together in Chicago.
As reported by ESPN's Shams Charania, the trade saw LaVine and three first-round picks move to the Kings, while star point guard De'Aaron Fox was dealt to the Spurs. In addition, the Bulls received players Zach Collins, Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter, and their own 2025 draft pick from San Antonio. DeRozan and LaVine previously played alongside each other in Chicago from the 2021-22 season through the 2023-24 campaign, achieving three combined All-Star selections despite the Bulls making only one playoff appearance during their stint together.
Following his transition to Sacramento in a sign-and-trade agreement in July 2024, DeRozan has consistently supported LaVine's efforts, including advocating for his All-Star consideration. In their encounter on January 12, after a game between Sacramento and Chicago, DeRozan praised LaVine's dedication and performance, reflecting on LaVine's hard work to overcome injuries. With the Kings holding a record of 24-24 and positioned at No. 10 in the Western Conference standings, both DeRozan and LaVine aim to leverage their experience and skill to secure a playoff berth.
