Chicago Cubs Unveil New Alternate Uniforms for 2025 Season
The Chicago Cubs have announced a fresh visual identity for the upcoming 2025 season, revealing their new 'Blues Alternate' uniforms through a promotional video shared on social media. These uniforms pay tribute to the franchise's road attire from the late 1970s and are set to replace the team’s City Connect uniforms in the upcoming season.
For the first time since the 1981 season, the Cubs will don powder blue jerseys, which feature a new logo that combines elements from the 'blues-era' Cubs uniforms alongside inspirations drawn from musical instrument brands. Additionally, a unique sleeve patch showcases custom lettering on a guitar pick, while the socks are designed with a six-string guitar stripe, highlighting the intricate details of these new uniforms.
As the Cubs aim to break a four-year hiatus from postseason play, following two consecutive seasons where they finished with 83-79 records, the team has already made a significant move this offseason. On December 13, they acquired three-time All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros, marking an ambitious step in their quest to return to playoff contention while showcasing their new alternate uniforms on the field.
