Chicago Cubs Introduce Premium Seating Experience at Wrigley Field for 2025 Season
Starting in the 2025 season, fans of the Chicago Cubs will have the opportunity to enjoy a luxury experience at Wrigley Field with the introduction of a new seating area in center field. As announced by Major League Baseball, this section, referred to as 'The Yard,' will accommodate up to 50 guests, offering exclusive perks such as unlimited beverages—including beer, seltzer, and wine—and meals for each ticket holder. Tickets can be purchased for groups of four to six people, enabling fans to secure their spots up to 90 minutes before the game commences.
According to Brett Taylor of Moneyline, further details from the official press release indicate that the development of 'The Yard' did not necessitate the removal of any existing bleacher seats. This ensures that overall attendance and the availability of general-admission seats in the outfield will not be adversely affected. The Cubs have implemented similar initiatives in prior seasons, such as the Hornitos Hacienda in left field and the Budweiser Patio in right field. Each rental area is equipped with high-top seating and tables, allowing patrons to choose from a menu featuring popular items like the Small Cheval burger, Vienna Beef hot dogs, or a vegetarian option.
Cale Vennum, the Cubs Senior Vice President of Ticketing, shared the team's aim to enhance the fan experience. He noted, 'Fans often tell us that Wrigley Field is their summer home, so we wanted to create a space that feels like their own backyard.' 'The Yard' is designed to provide a cozy, intimate setting while addressing requests for bleacher options tailored to smaller groups. As the historic Budweiser Bleachers maintain a lively atmosphere unique to Major League Baseball, 'The Yard' offers an elevated gameday experience in an all-inclusive, reserved space suitable for friends and family. Cubs supporters will be eager to witness a playoff-worthy team this season, especially after the organization has missed the postseason for the last four years, with their most recent playoff victory occurring during the 2017 National League Championship Series. This year, the Cubs have made significant roster changes, including the acquisition of star outfielder Kyle Tucker and pitchers Ryan Pressly and Colin Rea, despite the departure of Cody Bellinger. The Cubs’ season will commence with two games against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Japan on March 18 and 19, followed by the home opener on April 4 against the San Diego Padres.
