Caleb Williams Honors Brian Urlacher Ahead of Bears Season Opener

Caleb Williams Pays Tribute to Bears Legend
As the Chicago Bears prepare for their season opener, second-year quarterback Caleb Williams made a heartfelt gesture by donning a Brian Urlacher jersey while arriving at Soldier Field. This homage to the franchise legend comes ahead of the highly anticipated Monday Night Football matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Urlacher's Legacy with the Bears
Brian Urlacher, a first-round draft pick in 2000, is remembered as one of the premier players in Bears history. Throughout his impressive 13-year career with the team, Urlacher earned multiple accolades, including NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2000 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. With a staggering total of 1,361 tackles, 41.5 sacks, and 22 interceptions, Urlacher's impact on the field was undeniable and has solidified his place in the Hall of Fame.
Williams Aiming for Success
While Williams isn't playing in Urlacher's defensive position, he hopes to carve out a successful path with the Bears. After a solid rookie season that saw him throw for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and only six interceptions—along with 489 rushing yards—Williams is looking to elevate his game even further this season. Last year, the Bears struggled with a 5-12 record, but with a fresh start under new head coach Ben Johnson, there are hopes for a turnaround.
Johnson, who previously helped develop one of the league's most dynamic offenses in Detroit, is now tasked with leading both Williams and the Bears toward a successful season. The stage is set for an exciting contest as they face off against their long-time divisional rivals, the Minnesota Vikings.
