Bijan Robinson Downplays Rankings After Falcons' Setback Against 49ers

Robinson Shuns Individual Praise Post-49ers Loss
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is taking a humble approach following his team's 20-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Despite his remarkable start to the season, Robinson dismissed any talk of being the top player in the NFL, stating, "All that best player in the NFL, that stuff is dead," when addressing reporters after the game.
Robinson's season has been nothing short of impressive. Entering Week 7, he had been averaging 164.4 yards from scrimmage per game during his first five starts, highlighted by a career-best 238 yards during a stunning 24-14 upset win over the Buffalo Bills on October 13.
Challenges Against a Resilient 49ers Defense
Despite high expectations in a primetime match against a 49ers team missing stars Nick Bosa and Fred Warner, the Falcons struggled to perform. Robinson managed to accumulate 92 yards from scrimmage; however, his rushing numbers—40 yards on just 2.9 yards per carry—were his lowest since the season opener. In contrast, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey shone brightly, racking up 201 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns, leading his team to victory.
Robinson acknowledged McCaffrey's skill, noting, "I mean, for him, that's what he does. He's been doing it for a long time, and for me, I got a lot of work to do." Despite this setback, Robinson's potential remains significant, and many view him as one of the closest players to McCaffrey in terms of versatility.
Looking Ahead
As the Falcons look to rebound from this loss, they will have a chance to do so quickly. They are set to host the Miami Dolphins, who suffered a heavy defeat against the Cleveland Browns, this upcoming Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Robinson will aim to showcase his talents once more and help his team return to the winning column.
