Bijan Robinson Praises Saquon Barkleys Standout Performance
Bijan Robinson, running back for the Atlanta Falcons, recently expressed admiration for Saquon Barkley following his impressive performance in the Philadelphia Eagles' divisional playoff victory against the Los Angeles Rams. Barkley showcased his skills by rushing for 205 yards on 26 carries and scoring two touchdowns, contributing significantly to the Eagles' 28-22 win. Robinson's enthusiastic endorsement of Barkley highlighted the rising talent within the running back position.
Robinson, who shares a close friendship with Barkley, stated, "Man Saquon, thank you for making us RB's look amazing. This position is looking great." This sentiment was echoed in his previous comments to reporters where he referred to Barkley as a mentor and expressed excitement about watching him play, although he noted his desire for Barkley not to perform exceptionally against the Falcons when they eventually met on the field.
The camaraderie between the two running backs is evident, as Robinson has frequently hailed Barkley's talent. After a notable moment in a previous game where Barkley executed a backward hurdle against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Robinson remarked on The Rich Eisen Show, saying, "When he did that, I was watching it at first and couldn't believe my eyes. When I saw the replay, I knew I had to try that someday." While the Falcons did not qualify for the postseason with an 8-9 record, Robinson had a productive season with 1,456 total yards and 14 touchdowns. In contrast, Barkley is enjoying a career year, averaging 125.3 rushing yards per game and leading the league in total carries and rushing yards, with 2,005 yards. The Eagles' playoff advancement to the NFC Conference Championship against the Washington Commanders was largely attributed to Barkley’s outstanding contributions.
