Athletics Embrace Sacramento with New Jersey Design for 2026 Season

Acknowledging Their Temporary Home
After a season spent without an official city designation, the Oakland Athletics are set to honor their temporary home in Sacramento with a new jersey design for the upcoming 2026 season. The A's revealed a fresh gold and green jersey that prominently features "Sacramento" across the chest, marking a step toward solidifying their connection to the city.
Continuing Their Sacramento Journey
While the Athletics are not changing their official designation to Sacramento, the new jerseys aim to create a home-like atmosphere during their tenure at Sutter Health Park. This move follows the team's use of a jersey sleeve patch depicting the Tower Bridge along with the word "Sacramento" in script during the 2025 season.
Following the expiration of their lease in Oakland at the end of the 2024 season, the A's signed a three-year lease with Sacramento to play at Sutter Health Park, which is also the home of the San Francisco Giants' Triple-A affiliate. This agreement includes an option for a fourth year if their new stadium in Las Vegas is not completed before the start of the 2028 season. Construction on the Las Vegas stadium began earlier in June, following a groundbreaking ceremony with A's and city officials.
New Promotions and Player Involvement
For the 2026 season, the Athletics plan to deploy their Sacramento jerseys for every Saturday home game as part of the "Sacramento Saturdays" promotion at Sutter Health Park. Additionally, players will have the option to wear the jersey on other days, whether at home or during road games.
As the A's gear up for this upcoming season, they will close out the 2025 season with a final game against the Kansas City Royals. This year, they have recorded a 36-44 record at Sutter Health Park, and their 76 wins overall mark their highest total since the 2021 season when they finished with 86 wins.
